Thoughts, poems, prayers -1974/75-
of Ingeborg Brigitte Gastel

Here I would like to say, that the year 1974 was a particular bad year for me. Not only was my marriage at that time psychological becoming extremely harmful to me,  my ex-husbands mother had also died and so did my beloved dog Timothy. And then I met someone who truly saved me from an impossible situation and my (in)sanity - of what was left of it. At that particular time I had also worked in a Home for the Aged, which was absolutely depressing and really exposed the darker side of life to me. Even though I tried to seek peace in God, the church and my poems - my feelings towards the other person and *Elton John's* music/lyrics were the ones which kept my head above water. It was the time of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", "Let's Burn the Mission Down" and "Elderberry Wine"...
