Much occupied in warfare with the MacDonalds whom he defeated circa
1490 at Glendale in Skye. He had a charter, dated 15 June 1498, of various
lands which he had held of the Lords of the Isles, from King James IV.
He held other charters from King James V, dated 13 February 1539, for Glenelg
and, in 1542, for Trotternish, Sleat and North Uist.
