In 1190 he joined his father to become a crusader. When his father died about 1202, he inherited his father's properties to become Sire de La Tour. The date of his marriage to Marie d'Auvergne is unknown but probably took place several years before 1217. It is also unknown when he died but he was still alive in 1218.
