The Pope sent him on a mission to the Hungarians. He married twice and
a son of the first marriage became Duke of Bavaria and established the
house of Brunswick in Germany, then later the Hanoverian kings of England;
while a son of the second marriage remained in Italy and his
decendants flourished there for many centuries. Azzo II died aged 100
years.
