In 1485 he divided the inheritance with his brother and gave his name
to the 'Albertine' line of the house of Saxony. In 1489 Emperor Maximilian
made him Governor of The Netherlands where, in 1492, he suppressed an uprising
in Holland. In 1498 he conquered Friesland
which Emperor Maximilian bestowed upon him
