He entered into a military career and was soon Captain-Lieutenant in
the army in Flanders, then later on captain of the guard of the
Duchesse de Berry. In 1715 he married Marguerite Pauline de Prondre
and they became the parents of one daughter. On 31 March 1720 he was
appointed Lieutenant-General in the king's army. However, he died,

November 1724, aged about fifty-one. His widow married Gaspard de
Clermont-Tonnerre, Marquis de Cuizy, and died 29 July 1756.
