He was a captain-pilot in the marines as well as a lieutenant-colonel
in the Royal Marechaussee. He became the commander of the Royal Marechaussee
in the province Gelderland and was rovost-marshal Multinational Force and
Observers in the Sinai. After his service in the armed forces he became
a member of the town-council of Hummelo and Keppel.
