To describe her, lines of Shakespeare have been borrowed: "Disdain and
scorn ride sparkling in her eye misprizing what they look on", and "her
wit values itself so highly".
On 8 November 1766 at Burlington House, Piccadilly, she married the
Duke of Portland when she was only sixteen years old. They became the parents
of five children before she died of mortification of the bowels on 3 June
1794 and was buried at St.Marylebone.
