Maid of Honour to the Electress Sophia of Hanover, she became the most
important mistress of the Electress's son. When her lover became King Georg
I of Great Britain, she followed him to England where, in 1716, she was
created Duchess of Munster and, in 1719, Duchess of Kendal. To add to this,
the Emperor created her Princess von Eberstein in 1723. Her main residence
in England was Kendal House, Isleworth, Middlesex. She died unmarried in
her seventy-sixth year.
