Born 1681

Jerome Phelypeaux, Comte de Pontchartrin, son of Louis
Phelypeaux, Comte de Pontchartrin and Marie de Maupeou
Born March 1674
Died 8 February 1747
She gave up her Huguenot faith to return to Catholicism. During her
short life, she had a great reputation for virtue and piety, and ability
and sweetness, with a shyness most fitting at that period.
On 28 February 1697 she married Jerome Phelypeaux, Comte de Pontchartrin,
and they became the parents of five children. At Versailles in 1703, she
gave birth to her third child, the future
Prime Minister, Jean Frederic Phelypeaux, Comte de Maurepas.
As Comtesse de Pontchartrin she was the friend of Marshall de Tesse
who called her "the model for women". Aged only about twenty-seven, she
died on 23 June 1708.
