Erroll Augustus Joseph Henry Blake, 4th Baron Wallscourt (1841-1918)
son of Joseph Henry Blake, 3rd Lord Wallscourt and
Elizabeth Locke
Born 22 August 1841 Brighton
Died 22 July 1918 Monte Carlo
Married 7 February 1874
Lady Jane Harriet Charlotte Stanhope
Born 29 July 1853
Died 8 September 1889 Cowes, Isle of Wight

His father was a man of exceptional strength and a well-known boxer who at times would get half-crazed and very violent. He liked walking about the house with no clothes on, carrying a cow bell in his hand when in this state of nudity so that the maid servants had warning of his approach.

As two elder brothers had died in childhood, Erroll Augustus Joseph Henry Blake became this man's heir and, in 1849, the 4th Baron Wallscourt. He received his education at Eton where he studied from
1855 until 1859. On 21 December 1860 he joined the Coldstream Guards, became a captain in 1866 but retired from the army on 25 December 1867. In 1874 he was appointed Gentleman of the Bedchamber and from 1877 until 1880 he was Gentleman Usher to the Viceroy of Ireland.

His first wife was Lady Jane Harriet Charlotte Stanhope, a daughter of the 7th Earl of Harrington, and they became the parents of five children. She died in 1889 and on  25 January 1896 he married as
his second wife Mary Palliser, but there were no children from this marriage. Lord Wallscourt died in Monte Carlo aged seventy-six on 22 July 1918.
