Count Gyula Andrassy de Csik-Szent-Kiraly und Kraszna-Horka (1823-1890)
Born 3 March 1823 Kocire, Slovakia
Died 18 February 1890
Married 1856
Countess Katinka Kendeffy de Malomviz
Died 14 May 1896 Wien

He had a turbulent political career, the low point of which was probably his hanging in absentia in 1851 for political activities during the 1848 revolution. Franz Joseph pardoned him in 1857, and in 1867 appointed him Minister President of Hungary. He was a close
friend and confidant of the Empress Elisabeth, and through her intercession with the Emperor he gained a number of important concessions for Hungary.
