Matriculated on 15 July 1690 at Oxford's Christ Church, he took his
seat in the Irish House on 27 August 1695 and in the English House on 23
November 1695. On 28 October 1699 in Westminster Abbey he married Lady
Catherine Darnley, the acknowledged daughter of King James II.
However, on 12 June 1701 by Act of Parliament, they were separated
on grounds of his cruelty. Shortly afterwards, on 21 January 1702, he died
and, as he left only an infant daughter, it was his brother who became
the next Earl of Anglesey. His widow married again and became Duchess of
Buckingham.
