Younger daughter of Philip II of Spain and his third wife, Elizabeth Valois, Catalina resembled her pretty French mother more than her Habsburg father.  Being the younger, and less important of the two Infantas, she was not kept waiting for a splendid marriage, but made a love match with Carlos Emanuele, Duke of Savoy, but  died young.
