Born in 1620 he was only twenty-years-old when his father died and
he became 8th Count of Egmond, Prince de Gavre, Baron de Hamaide, Lord
of Fiennes, Armentieres and so on. He, too, became a knight in the Order
of the Golden Fleece as well as a Courtier of King Felipe III of Spain.
In 1632 he joined a conspiracy against the Spanish King and because of
this had to flee to France where he died at St. Cloud on 27 July 1654.
