In 1810, when only twelve, she acted the part of Juliet in her
father's theatre; then in 1814 she acted in "The Child of Nature" at
Covent Garden. In 1815 she became the mistress of Colonel Berkeley,
afterwards Lord Segrave and Earl FitzHardinge.
Apparently she was very beautiful but not a great actress. In 1824
she recovered œ3,000 damages for breach of promise of marriage from
a
Mr. Hayne who was usually, from the colour of his coat, called
"Pea-Green Hayne". Her last appearance on the stage was at Birmingham
in March 1831.
On 7 April 1831 at Elvaston Hall, County Derby, she married
Charles Stanhope, 4th Earl of Harrington, and they became the parents
of two children. She died of bronchitis, aged sixty-nine.
