She was a daughter of the 2nd Duke of Ormonde and a granddaughter of the 1st Duke of Beaufort. On 21 October 1710 she married John Ashburnham, 3rd Baron Ashburnham and later the 1st Earl. However, she died aged twenty-three, in childbirth, on 2 January 1713 and was buried at Ashburnham. According to Jonathan Swift: "She was my greatest favourite, and I am in excessive concern for her death, I hardly knew a more valuable person on all accounts."
