He obtained large grants of land, 2,500 acres, in the baronies of Moghergallin and Lune, County Meath, from the English Parliament, whose cause he had greatly assisted. Subsequently he became a merchant in Dublin. He died 3 September 1656 and, as a result, his son was born posthumously four days later.
