Rosalie and Ferencz,
together with many of their descendants and
Rosalie's parents,
are interred in the crypt under the charming
neo-Gothic family
chapel at Alberti Irsa, near Abony. The chapel,
which dates
from the early 1870's, was designed by Nikolaus Ybl who
also designed
the city hall in Vienna and a number of civic buildings
in Budapest.
The chapel ceiling, myriad stars in a sky of a striking
deep blue, calls
to mind the evening sky which backdrops the Szapary
crest. The ceiling
and the frescos over both sides of the external
chapel is now
in a poor state of repair and the crypt has been
vandalised.
