In 1659 he married Anna van Nassau, a granddaughter of Prince William
the Silent, and they became the parents of three daughters. In 1660
he
became a Major in the army and a Lieutenant-Colonel in 1663; on 21
March 1667 Colonel of the Infantry; in 1668 General-Major and, on 12
April 1672, Master-General of the Artillery. He died in The Hague on
3
June 1721.
