In 1676 he was working for a taylor in The Hague and was several times
accused of stealing; on 8 April 1676, clothes were mentioned but in May
the same year it was a sheep. In 1681 he married Johanna van Bemmel but
this marriage remained childless. In 1701 he was recorded as a citizen
of The Hague but, on 19 March 1708 at his mother's request, he was locked
up because of his 'continual drunk drinking and the lifestyle that goes
with it'.
