When in 1552 the Council was reorganized by the royal delegate Has (Has-Council) per order by his Majesty, Georg Seckel became a member of the outer council probably hoping that he would later be promoted into the smaller inner circle. However, he shortly died thereafter.

Notes for PAUL SECKEL:
#3278
Paul studied at Heidelberg and Tubingen; he became a master of science schoolmaster?) and was a member of the Council from 1563 to 1569. He was one of the most efficient and active aldermen and was also in charge of the Rosegarden Office.
In 1566 he was elected into the Committee of the Five - the real center of power - which was comprised of the current and the previousmayors plus the three senior aldermen. Thus Paul was sort of expectant of the highest office being the mayor's office. However becausehe abused his position to buy Uttenhofen property and tried to get theauthorities on his side against his official duty. He probably wantedto convert his estate into a knightly village outside the sovereigntyof the Reichs-City. As a result, he was dismissed from the Council in
1569; he was also accused of having signed usurious contracts. Paul Seckel grudgingly retreated to Uttenhofen and tried to become a farmer and died in 1594.

Notes for KLAUS SECKEL III:

Sold,in 1566 half the Raibauch farm, has to go abroad in 1579.
He was a butcher, was fined for carelessly borrowing money and for
being heavily indebted. In 1574 he was forbidden to carry on his bus-
iness but since this did not help his debts he was allowed to resume
his business (at the intercession of the high-ranking ladies and gent-
lemen of Hohenlohe) on the promise that he would never incur debts
again. However, when he drove the calves home from Unterlimpurg he
got into a fight with the Junker (esquire) of Tegernau, hit the lat-
ters pregnant cow, "swore a thousand sacramentoes" and called the
Junker a snotty-nosed nobleman. Eventually he was expelled from the
city for his continuous quarrels and died away from home. His child-
ren however, became reputable citizens of Hall, and the oldest daugh-
ter was even married to a clergyman.
